Wednesday, December 12th, 2012 Math Test

Hello Everyone,

The class average for the second part of the math test was 68%. The third and final part will be a problem solving section given on Friday (not Thursday) to give students a chance to revise.

Students should complete their error analysis as soon as possible and before Friday, so that it serves as revision for the test.

The last question on the test was hard one, but one covered in class twice. The best answer given is below.

Have a lovely evening,
Kathy Napier

December 10th-14th

Hello Families,

This week the students continue to learn to use the blog, refining posts and comments as they explore this format for sharing their writing. If you would like to participate as a guest in our blog community, just write me a short note and I will send you a username and password.

Math: This week we tie together the strands of what we have been learning, and students will have two more short tests. Last week's test came home today; the class average was 74%. Students should complete their error analysis and have the test signed by a parent.

Social Sciences: Read in Places in Time 5, pages 36-42  and answer the 'Eagle Eye' questions on education.

Music: Learn, by heart, the two songs we've chosen for next week's concert.

Parent information on our mini-unit on stress was sent home today. This packet provides you with information on how stress can manifest itself in children of this age,  as well as tools to help you help your child with stress. The information is interesting and provides help developing skills for lifelong management of stress.

Have a wonderful week!
